It's easy to scroll on social media and look at all of the extravagant pictures of the most pretty pose at the prettiest location and wish to achieve that same look. And don't get me wrong, I'm there with you. I love getting to travel and try new locations but sometimes we see those photos and feel less of ourselves. Like we have to change to make our way to a bigger goal again and again.
But something that I love even more then going to the prettiest locations and most extravagant sets is going somewhere and capturing photos that reflect on who we are today. Whether it be a hobby, a lifestyle or just something you enjoy doing every once in a while.
A hobbyist photoshoot in practice
So with that, I present a photo shoot that reminds me of "Thrift Shop by Macklemore"! I am big thrift and antique store lover. I had posted a photo on my social media from the biggest antique store I had ever been to. I went around a couple of weeks ago with my husband and just took pictures of the things that I thought were pretty. Something that stood out to me at this location was the way natural light came down from windows on the ceilings creating this ethereal ambiance to their antiques. It really was a whole vibe.
Ashley, a friend of mine, reached out loving the idea of doing photos at a thrift shop. So naturally I asked her if she'd like to wonder around the Antique Gallery of Houston with me. She said yes so it became a date! The day came and it was so fun to wonder around with another art lover.
If you are looking for a good hairstylist North of Houston, I recommend checking Ashley out in her hair studio! There she has her own art pieces hung up for you to admire as you get your hair styled. I absolutely love it.
With Ashley, this photoshoot was so fun as we found all the fun trinkets to take photos with. And since she was such an amazing poser, I had a lot of fun focusing on the lighting ang getting creative with some concepts. Thank you Ashley for doing this with me!
