To say the least, this was a really fun photoshoot filled with many twists and turns.
I should've known this was going to be an interesting one as we drove by something that really caught my attention. You may not know, but the University of Houston is getting a lot of construction done as of now and there was just this tree. I'm assuming they were trying to barricade it, to let construction know not to touch it. It said, "NOTICE. Keep out, tree preservation". The ironic part is the barricade around it was a bunch of long two by fours laying against it. Ahh... makes sense. Let's tie a bunch of wood around a tree to preserve it... If you know, you know.
That had to be the foreshadowing.
Now don't get me wrong at all. This photoshoot was an absolute blast. The weather was absolutely perfect as the sun went to dusk. We chatted and caught up as the old buddies we are. We went back and forth with our many tales of adulthood up to this point. And trust, there were many. Honestly, we probably could've spent another couple hours just chatting but sadly I did have to come home eventually.
I had Rebeccah at her first spot taking photos where we decided to do the confetti cannon. We were both in position and I was snapping many photos as Rebeccah tried to twist the cannon to pop. A couple minutes go by and we decide to look into it further. I assume she may not be putting enough pressure so I told her to hold the cannon tight. Still nothing... But to our luck, Rebeccah had bought two just in case. We got back into our places and as soon as she makes a movement with her hands on this cannon... it POPS with a loud crack and confetti blows! Me, Sarah and Rebeccah gleefully laugh as the confetti slowly fills the air and falls to the ground. Thank goodness for the second cannon as we all talk down to the first one. Tisk tisk...
We make our way to the next spot and the sun is quickly making it's way to the horizon. The next thing we knew, it was dusk and dark. But to our luck, I always bring my on-camera flash as we decided to trudge on for this photo shoot!
We make it to one location, and then the next. Our last stop being the religious center, that closes in thirty minutes as we speed walk over to it. As we walk in, we notice that a service is going on but we made it this far so we ain't going back. Except, Sarah is patting herself and her pockets when she realizes that she doesn't have her phone. We all look at each other for a moment. Sarah decides she's going to try to make it go off outside while me and Rebeccah quickly snap our last shots. We finish up and Sarah tells us that the phone is at the second location with the cougar statue. So we quickly pack our stuff and Rebeccah changes into her walking shoes. Luckily, this location is on the way out of the college to the parking lot we had parked at. As we made it closer to the phone, Sarah slowly sped up to grasps what is hers.
Thank goodness for Rebeccah having Sarah's location!!
We drive back to Rebeccah and Sarah's apartment, reliving the past 2-3 hours. I'm sure there are things I didn't even mention that happened at this photoshoot. But again, it was so so fun to say the least. And at the end of the day, we still captured absolute magic!
