I was so excited when my parents came to me to photograph this cute moment. Recently, my parents have become empty nesters. My brother moved off to college less. Knowing they were going to be empty nesters, they bought a book that made it easy for them to go on exciting dates that were different every time. This book has activities separated by categories like budget, location, time of day and much more. The only catch is you don’t know the activity untell you scratch at the page, kinda like a lottery ticket.
They scratched one date that was labeled with outdoor activity, travel and a budget of $10-$15. What was underneath was the instruction to go to a park and have a water balloon fight where you yell, “Marco! Polo!” They realized that they needed a photo of the event to put in the book so they called me up. When I realized what they were going to do, I got so excited.
This photoshoot was a blast! I am so happy to have been there and I am so happy to see my parents taking back their lives after my and my brother took charge of everything they did for so long. 20 years of raising me and my brother to be the best people we can be and I wouldn't change any of it for the world. Mom and dad, thank you for everything you have done for me and Austin as we grew up. We can never repay the many years of patience and love that you gave us. I can’t wait to see more of your adventures as you step into this next step of life <3
I’m sorry for being so sappy but I can’t help it when talking about my parents and how amazing they are. But, here are some of the photos from the water balloon fight!
