I've come to the conclusion that there is nothing more heart warming then seeing your parents in love. Something I have learned as of lately is the emotional toll of being a photographer because in order to be a good photographer, you have to feel whats in the photo. These moments are not only pretty photos but moments i've experienced through my lens and captured. My heart is in it and I look forward to putting my heart into everything I can.
This photoshoot actually sprouted from a little game my parents have been playing for a year or so. The game is this book filled with scratch off date ideas that keep things exciting, all being categorized by price, travel and time spent. For this one, the scratched off prompt said that they had to go somewhere with their car and dance in front of the headlights to music playing in the car. The twist was bonus points if you bring a photographer and take photos. Naturally, since their daughter is a photographer, they asked me to help. Naturally, I jumped for joy.
So I helped with a vision. My mom had decided that she really wanted the photos to feel like the song 'Beautiful People by Ed Sheeran ft. Khalid'. The song goes on about beautiful people and how they may look perfect but their hearts are not there so they proceed to "leave this party" because it's not "who we are". With that, we came up with the idea to have fancy clothes as if they had just left this fancy party to do dance and enjoy their time together instead. With a little detail of ordering pizza because they left before the food even came out.
At the end of the day, all they really need is each other, a good time and some pizza!
My parents are the cutest.
